What instructions are usually given to patients when they are discharged home after having uterine artery embolization?

Upon discharge:

• Patients are given a prescription for pain medication with specific instructions on its use. They may also be given medications to treat nausea as well as medications to promote sleep with instructions to use them as needed.
• Patients are advised to refrain from any excessive physical activity for at least 2 weeks.
