Understanding what uterine fibroids causes

The female reproductive organs have a very complex system of functioning and there are many diseases related to these functions which affect women from all walks of life on regular basis. One of the most common problems that women have is the appearance of growths in the inside of the uterus called uterine fibroids. These growths can be very tinny or they can grow very big as well. Finding fibroid causes is not easy.
Recent data and research has shown that the amount of women that suffer from uterine fibroids is very large and that it can reach as high as 75 percent of the world population. However, it has also been noted that racial background and DNA can also create a difference in this aspect. Uterine fibroid causes anaemia and pain and discomfort in many women.
Fibroids also causes infertility because the walls of the uterine are not smooth enough for the eggs to get implanted and also because they may be blocking the fallopian tubes and the cervix at the same time. Once these growths start reproducing, it is very difficult to figure out the area that they are going to cover. Many cases have been studied where the women get pregnant and then have a miscarriage due to the fact that they are suffering from uterine fibroids.
It has also been seen that uterine fibroids causes urinary tract infections and a lot of discomfort depending on the area that they are and on the size of the growths. It is extremely difficult to understand the real causes of fibroids; however, research shows that this is related to the hormonal balance of oestrogen. When oestrogen is high in the system, like at the time of pregnancy, women can have these problems, however, they will go away at the time of menopause, as the amount of oestrogen production comes down at that time.
However, it has also been seen that progesterone also causes for the fibroids to grow faster, especially when the two hormones get out of balance. This in itself becomes a cause of worry, as the growths do not die naturally.
Fibroid causes a lot of pain in women when they start to reach certain sizes. It is important to note that people suffering from high blood pressure and that are taking medications for this condition, are more apt to get these kinds of problems. Also, since this condition is directly related to the hormonal system, taking contraceptives or any kind of birth control pills and being overweight do not help the condition at all.
Other factors that may be increasing the risks and fibroid causes can include having had Chlamydia or PID (pelvic inflammatory disease), infections from IUD, especially if it was not fitted properly or removed in time and to some extent the use of tampons that contain talcum powder rendering people for fibroid surgery.
